Pilot project in Sakarya, Hendek, Türkiye

This pilot project will involve the construction of a 5 MW photovoltaic park with an 18 MW gas turbine. This gas turbine will ensure 24-hour operation of the electrolyzer. The gas turbine is equipped with the latest carbon capture and storage (CCS) technology.

A 19 MW electrolyzer is used for the electrolysis, which is used to produce sustainable hydrogen. This hydrogen is an important step towards a CO₂-neutral energy future.

The project is scheduled to start between 2026 and 2028.

Pilot project for sustainable hydrogen production in Turkey

01

Pilot project in Sakarya, Hendek, Türkiye

A pilot project for sustainable energy production is being implemented in the Turkish city of Sakarya. The plan envisages the construction of a 5 MW photovoltaic park combined with an 18 MW gas turbine.

02

Electrolyzer for hydrogen production

This park will operate an electrolyzer that produces hydrogen 24 hours a day. The electrolyzer will be powered by energy from the gas turbine, which simultaneously enables CO₂ capture and storage.

03

Technological Innovation

The gas turbine uses the latest carbon capture and storage (CCS) technology to minimize environmental impact and provide an environmentally friendly energy source.

04

Hydrogen production

The pilot project aims to produce hydrogen from renewable electricity from the PV park in order to advance the energy transition and make it usable as a clean energy source in various industries.
